From the author of The Healing Power of Mind, an accessible guide to Tibetan Buddhist loving-kindness meditation-with downloadable guided meditations.

All Buddhist traditions teach that the practice of loving-kindness can transform our lives. Here, Tulku Thondup offers a step-by-step guide to a Tibetan Buddhist approach to loving-kindness meditation, which focuses on connecting to Avalokitesvara, the bodhisattva of compassion. Dividing the practice into twelve simple steps, this book provides everything readers need to uncover their innate joy and compassion. The accompanying downloadable audio program guides meditators through the steps of visualizing Avalokitesvara, generating devotion to the ideals he embodies, and radiating loving-kindness to all beings in the universe.

Reviews for The Healing Power of Loving-Kindness: A Guided Buddhist Meditation

A remarkably lucid distillation of Tibetan Buddhist teachings on how the state of our minds in life affects the nature and quality of our experiences in death. The result is a provocative and surprisingly compelling work that will appeal to beginners and advanced practitioners alike. --Publishers Weekly Thondup's book is deceptively simple--the work of a great teacher who has penetrated this material so deeply he can present it with clarity that spiritual seekers of any level can grasp. --New Age Journal This healing path is a spiritual practice, a way to transform our very lives. --Daniel Goleman, author of Emotional Intelligence
