Kathleen A. Brehonyis a licensed clinical psychologist and Jungian-oriented psychotherapist. She holds a PhD and MS in clinical psychology from Virginia Tech and a BA in Sociology from Catholic University. She completed her residency training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where she served as chief resident. She has taught at the university level and been in private practice for more than 15 years, specializing in issues related to transitional developmental periods of life, including midlife and death and dying, as well as the relationship between spirituality and psychology. Throughout her career she has conducted hundreds of professional workshops, seminars, and training programs on these and other subjects. She is especially interested in bringing academic and scholarly information to the general public.Brehony has published extensively in professional journals and books. She is coeditor ofMarketing Health Behaviors(Plenum, 1984) andBoston Marriages(The University of Massachusetts Press, 1993). She is the author ofAwakening at Midlife(Riverhead Books, 1996).Dr. Brehony lives in Norfolk, Virginia, where she maintains a private clinical practice.
