Reporter, wrangler, Iditarod musher Shelley Gill strives to write books kids can relate to and have them say, ""This is my favorite book!"" Gill lives in Homer, Alaska - a small fishing town on the tip of the Kenai Peninsula with her daughter Kye and her animals. Shannon Cartwright, a native of Michigan says, ""Finding Alaska was the best thing that ever happened to me, this is my home."" Shannon lives 25 miles off the road in the Talkeetna Mountains. When not doing her artwork, she spends her time traveling through the mountains with her ponies and her dog, Cirrus.
