Jun Wang, CMD, is an assistant professor at the Institute for Holistic Health Studies at San Francisco State University. Born in Beijing, China, she obtained a PhD in medical anthropology from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 2003. The author of several articles on Asian traditional medicine in American and British peer-reviewed journals, she lives in San Francisco.
This slim book, whose intellectual weight thoroughly belies its modest page count, works on three quite different levels: first, as practice book for a simple introduction to some of the most useful everyday exercise forms attached to the Chinese medical tradition, second, as an exposition and celebration of the roots of that tradition and the culture which gave rise to it, and third, and by no means least, as an evolutionary development of that tradition. ...
