Lauren Marx was raised and currently resides in Saint Louis, Missouri. She received her Bachelor of Fine arts, with an emphasis in drawing, in 2014 from Webster University's Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts. Since then, Lauren has dedicated her life to pursuing her passion for illustration and furthering her love of the natural as well as the supernatural world. Lauren primarily works in permanent or semi-permanent drawing mediums such as pen, ink, and watercolor. Her work focuses on utilizing the native flora and fauna of North America to explore themes of life and death, historic religious symbolism in art, and her own mental health. Lauren's art is heavily influenced by her love of scientific illustration, medieval marginailia and bestiaries, and Renaissance religious paintings.
