Ruth Haley Barton is a spiritual director, retreat leader, and trainer in spiritual formation. Formerly the associate director of spiritual formation at Willow Creek Community Church in Illinois, Ruth is a graduate of Wheaton College and was trained as a spiritual director at the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Direction in Washington D.C. Ruth is an author, a speaker, a wife, and a mother of three daughters (ages 18, 16, and 11). Her titles include Equal to the Task- Men and Women in Partnership at Work, at Church, at Home, and the popular Fisherman Bible Studyguides Becoming Women of Purpose, Women Like Us, and Ruth- Relationships That Bring Life. She is also a contributing author to The Couples' Devotional Bible and Today's Christian Woman Study Bible and the co-author of An Ordinary Day with Jesus- Experiencing the Reality of God in Your Everyday Life.
