A compassionate, science-backed roadmap to appetite, metabolism and life in the age of GLP-1s.

Includes a Foreword from Professor Tim Spector

GLP-1 medications have transformed how we eat, drink and think about appetite. Millions of people have used them. Millions more are considering them. Yet for all their impact and rapid uptake, one critical gap in support and question remains largely unanswered- how do you nourish your body before, during and after weight-loss medications in a way that truly supports long-term health?

The Appetite Reset is the first science-based, compassionate guide to eating well at every stage of GLP-1 or \""peptide\"" therapy. Written by leading nutritionist and medical scientist Dr Federica Amati, it provides clear, practical guidance for protecting metabolism, restoring appetite signals and building a confident, sustainable relationship with food, whether you are looking to reset your natural appetite biology, exploring GLP-1s, currently taking them, or navigating life after stopping.

At the heart of the book is a simple three-phase nutritional framework grounded in clinical experience, unpacking the science behind these naturally occurring hormones and mechanisms, sharing the latest research into the future of metabolic health. Dr Amati also addresses the emotional and identity shifts that often accompany appetite suppression, helping readers move forward without fear, confusion or diet culture.

Reviews for The Appetite Reset: How to Eat, Drink and Thrive Before, During and After GLP-1s

Cuts through the hype to explain what GLP-1 appetite drugs really mean for your long-term health * Professor Tim Spector * We’ve spent decades blaming people for their appetite instead of understanding it. The Appetite Reset shifts the focus back to biology - gut, metabolism, hormones - and makes modern appetite science practical! * Dr. Karan Rajan * In a time of extraordinary medical innovation and extraordinary confusion, Dr. Amati offers clarity. She explains the promise of GLP-1 therapies without overstating them, and reminds us that muscle, nutrition, and movement remain non-negotiable with these therapies. This book reframes weight loss as a question of metabolic health, function, and longevity. It is thoughtful, evidence-based, and deeply practical * Stuart Phillips, PhD * Dr Federica Amati translates complex metabolic science into a highly practical and empowering insights. A very timely and important book * Liz Earle MBE * What I value most about this book is its ability to hold nuance. Written from a nutritionist’s standpoint, it explores GLP-1s within the wider context of metabolic health, dietary patterns and clinical experience. It avoids extremes, acknowledges the science, and reinforces that meaningful health outcomes are built on more than a prescription alone * Rhiannon Lambert, Sunday Times Best Selling Author and Nutritionist *
