John Kenneth Galbraith has written 30 books, spanning four decades. He has been awarded honorary degrees from Harvard, Oxford, the University of Paris and Moscow University. In 1998, he celebrated his 90th birthday. He continues to work as the Paul M Warburg Professor of Economics Emeritus at Harvard University.
This book has been called a masterpiece and its author an icon influence over economic thinking (the book originally published 40 years ago) has been immense; certainly his thinking has been prescient. Now revised and reissued, Galbraith's book, accessibly written and with sardonic humour apparent, can be appreciated by a new generation. Indeed, perhaps anyone aiming to be well informed about what comprises the world of business, money and economics should have a copy. If you read it in its original form it is worth revisiting; if not it is a must. (Kirkus UK)
