This book is based on the same concepts as Business Model Generation, however it focuses on the principles of great value propositions, the most important of the 9 building blocks of the Business Model Canvas.

Great value propositions:

  1. Are embedded in great business models.
  2. Focus on few pain relievers and gain creators, but those do extremely well.
  3. Focus on jobs, pains or gains that a large number of customers have (or for which a small number are willing to pay a lot of money).
  4. Align with how customers measure success.
  5. Focus on the most significant jobs, most severe pains, and most relevant gains.
  6. Differentiate from competition in a meaningful way.
  7. Address functional, emotional and social jobs all together.
