The Encyclopedia of Macro Social Work (EOMSW), edited by prominent scholars Terry Mizrahi and Darlyne Bailey, updates and expands upon all of the macro content in the field-defining Encyclopedia of Social Work to create a multi-volume work unlike any other. The EOMSW includes nearly 200 long-form overview articles, written by 334 diverse authors and peer-reviewed by a 13-member editorial board, that address macro practice methods (i.e. organizations, community, and policy), as well as macro theories, concepts, ideologies, problems, and contexts relating to macro social work. All articles typically cover the history and context of a given topic; challenges and opportunities for social workers; future trends and directions; and relevant issues that advance social, racial, environmental, political, and economic justice. The inaugural print edition of the EOMSW is destined to become an essential resource for the field: there is simply no similar work available that takes this sort of wide-ranging, expansive view of all that macro social work encompasses. It is a must-read guide to the field for educators, researchers, students, and practitioners who are located in organizational, community, and/or policy practice settings. Co-published with National Association of Social Workers Press.

"Dr. Darlyne Bailey is Professor and Dean Emeritus at Bryn Mawr College's Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research (GSSWSR) and Special Assistant to the College President for Community Partnerships. Darlyne is also the Director of the Social Justice Initiative. A first generation college student, Darlyne was also among the first women to attend Lafayette College. Darlyne's journey in academic administration began in 1994 when, three weeks after receiving tenure, she was appointed Dean of the Mandel School-- a position she held until 2002. A desire to ""pay back"" her birthplace of Harlem, NYC led to being the VP and Dean and then Acting President at Columbia University's Teachers College. In 2006, Darlyne went to the University of Minnesota as the first Dean of a new multidisciplinary college. In 2009 she returned east as the GSSWSR Dean until 2017, joining the faculty and working on community and national projects. Terry Mizrahi, Ph.D., MSW was a faculty member at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College of the City University of New York for 39 years (1980-2019). She was elected President of the National Association of Social Workers from 2000-2003 and was one of the founders of ACOSA (the Association of Community Organization and Social Action, formerly Social Administration) and its Journal of Community Practice (1993). Her areas of expertise are community organizing, health and social policy, interprofessional collaboration and coalition-building, physician-social work relationships, and professional socialization. She was co-editor of the 20th edition of the Encyclopedia of Social Work with Larry Davis in 2008. She has been co-chair of the Special Commission to Advance Macro Practice in Social work since 2013 and founded and co-chairs the National Social Work Voter Mobilization Campaign, known as Voting is Social Work since 2017."
