heavy metal concentrations). The third part deals with climate-related

monitoring studies of arctic-alpine and temperate regions of

the Northern Hemisphere (mountain peaks and timberline ecotones of the

Alps, spread of exotic evergreen broad-leaved plants, phytomass and

carbon balance in Svalbard).
