I love Tilly’s introduction explaining her passion for textile art and stitching and the history of embroidery which is great for the beginner to understand more about the art. The 16 different seasonal wildflower designs are shown as made up pieces with information about the flowers, where they are found and the inspiration for the design. Each design helpfully shows you the stitches you need to use so perfect for beginners. All of the flower designs are included in the pages of iron on transfers that can be cut out and reused with a handy storage pouch to keep them in at the back. The book contains beautiful photographs, clear instructions and ideas to personalise any embroidery projects you might undertake. There is a very useful, detachable 'Stitch Guide' for 'sewing on-the-go' which is perfect for beginners to embroidery or as a reminder for more experienced sewers! It starts with stitch types, followed by lots of many historical facts about Wildflowers. Tilly talks you through the patterns, her reasons for using them, colour and stitch ideas and do’s and don’ts within embroidery. The book is beautifully illustrated and to cap it all there are lots of patterns for you to use in the book too.
