The Onion Bird is a charming children's story about the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. It explores family relationships as two Jewish children travel with their parents to Alsace Lorraine, France. On this visit with grandfather, their Zayde teaches about Jewish traditions, biblical history, and a unique regional custom, while imparting Jewish values.

In this story Sam and Sarah, the main characters, are recalling spending quality time hiking in the woods, collecting treasures, and learning from their Zayde. The Onion Bird touches on how building special memories connect us over time and space. The Onion bird is a story of love and sharing family traditions.

Ketzi loves to cook and bake, and has done her share of catering. She and her husband, Jim, currently live in Arizona. Elisa is an illustrator, art instructor, and commission watercolor artist based in Oregon. As a mom of three wonderful girls, she felt connected to both the characters and the message of inclusivity in The Onion Bird, her first children's book. She loves hosting painting parties, going on beach trips, and enjoying nature with her loved ones.
