<b>Daniel Pembrey</b> studied history at Edinburgh University and received an MBA from INSEAD business school. Daniel then worked for almost 10 years at a prominent technology company in Seattle and Luxembourg. He is the author of the the Henk van der Pol detective series and several short thriller stories and he occasionally contributes non-fiction articles to publications including the <i>Times</i>. In order to write <i>The Harbour Master</i>, he spent several months living in the docklands area of Amsterdam, counting De Druif bar as his local.
The relationships linking Henk, his wife, and their daughter are flawlessly executed. Pembrey shows great skill as a crime fiction writer.
