"PRAISE FOR SNOW IN SEATTLE""Author Amy M. Le has written a powerful, heartwarming story of resilience and family that inspired me and kept me turning the page. I couldn't wait to find out what happened next as Snow, the protagonist, struggled to adjust to the American culture while retaining her Vietnamese heritage. Le sprinkled this novel with humor, romance, and drama, and I highly recommend it!"" -Staci Mauney, Editor, Prestige Prose ""Snow in Seattle is an astounding story bringing to life the complexities of adjusting to a new way of life for Vietnam refugees. It engulfs you in this family's reality and the struggles they faced. Written with such beautiful passion, I felt as if I was there with them. I am hopeful there will be another book to learn about the new adventures that await them."" -Tabitha Salom, Beta Reader ""Snow in Seattle has been one of the best books I've read in a long time. Snow, her daughter, and nephew had such difficulties getting to Seattle. This story will open your eyes to what refugees and our Vietnam Veterans went through during and after the war. This book will make you laugh, cry, and cheer on Snow and her family. Definitely worth the read!"" -Lori Kennedy, Beta Reader ""We humans can be adaptable and thrive if we have the strength and willpower to do so."" -Snow ""It was an honor to be invited to be a beta reader for Amy Le's sophomore novel, Snow in Seattle. This is a sequel to her debut novel, Snow in Vietnam. The sequel picks up with Snow and Dolly's introduction to America via Seattle, Washington. Snow in Seattle takes us on the heartfelt journey of Snow and Dolly's acclamation and orientation to America. For Dolly, it is also about her pursuit of urgently needed medical care and lifelong good health. For Snow, it is the trek to healing her soul of the wounds inflicted from a lifetime of war, basic survival, hunger, violence, loss, and heartache. It is about forgiveness and salvation. It is about building a community of loved ones and supporters."" ""Remember that grit and tenacity will take you far in life, but love and forgiveness will carry you to the finish line."" -Snow ""There is a part of the book that will stay with me for a very long time. I won't spoil it for future readers, but let this quote from the book be a teaser. ""Like cobwebs or like honeycombs? Like glass or like horse?"" Nope, not just a very long time...maybe forever. You know that a story is well told when, days after completing it, you are still thinking about the amazing characters. Amy, while telling the fictionalized story of her mother, is really sharing the story of herself and how she became the strong woman that she is today. Like Snow, she is an amazing person, mother, wife, friend, and storyteller."" -Gina Richardson, Beta Reader ""After reading Snow in Seattle I have a better understanding of how the Vietnamese refugees lived here in America in the '70s and '80s. The journey of learning our culture while still incorporating her culture in her daughter was so impressive. I cried, laughed, loved, hated, and lived with Snow. The description of the food and atmosphere of everywhere around her is phenomenal. I could not put this book down! I was there with Snow from the beginning and hope there is more to come."" -Bri Neighbors, Beta Reader"
