Our search has the following Google-type functionality:
+ (addition symbol)
If you use '+' at the start of a word, that word will be present in the search results.
eg. Harry +Potter
Search results will contain 'Potter'.
- (minus symbol)
If you use '-' at the start of a word, that word will be absent in the search results.
eg. Harry -Potter
Search results will not contain 'Potter'.
AND
If you use 'AND' between 2 words, then both those words will be present in the search results.
eg. Harry AND Potter
Search results will contain both 'Harry' and 'Potter'.
OR
If you use 'OR' between 2 words, then either or both of those words will be present in the search results.
eg. 'Harry OR Potter'
Search results will contain just 'Harry', or just 'Potter', or both 'Harry' and 'Potter'.
NOT
If you use 'NOT' before a word, that word will be absent in the search results. (This is the same as using the minus symbol).
eg. 'Harry NOT Potter'
Search results will not contain 'Potter'.
" " (double quotation marks)
If you use double quotation marks around words, those words will be present in that order.
eg. "Harry Potter"
Search results will contain 'Harry Potter', but not 'Potter Harry'.
* (asterisk)
If you use '*' in a word, it performs a wildcard search, as it signifies any number of characters. (Searches cannot start with a wildcard).
eg. 'Pot*er'
Search results will contain words starting with 'Pot' and ending in 'er', such as 'Potter'.

The draft Order (which is available from www .cabinet-office.gov.uk/regulation/rra/rro/proposals.asp) seeks to introduce a single regulatory regime for fire safety, based on the principles of risk assessment, with one authority in each geographical area responsible for enforcement of general fire safety issues. The report refers to several drafting problems. The intention to implement the provisions of the Order in Scotland by means of an Executive Bill in the Scottish Parliament, cannot be carried out as originally intended, because certain fire safety matters are reserved under the Scotland Act. More guidance must be provided regarding the definition of words and phrases in the draft Order, for example, place of safety . A duty should be placed on the Secretary of State to issue guidance to, monitor and direct fire authorities in connection with the enforcement of the provisions of the Order. The case for revocation of the Fire Precautions (Sub-surface Railway Stations) Regulations 1989, has not yet been made. The drafting of the Order as it applies to the maintenance of fire protection systems in houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) is unclear.
