L.W. Sumner has published extensively in ethics, political philosophy, and philosophy of law. He is the author of five books ranging from Abortion and Moral Theory (1981) to Assisted Death: A Study in Ethics and Law (2011). Sumners volume is a splendid example of how ethical analysis, historical review, and pragmatic comparison of alternative policies can be brought together concisely in a handy book that conveys a great deal of what everyone really does need to know about PAD. * Paul T. Menzel, Bioethics *
