It all started with a dream... 'Message in a Bottle' is a 'tongue in cheek', yet reflective view of life abroad for expats living in a country with a different language, different culture and, more importantly, a different pace of life. This is not another travel book, but a well observed view of people, society and the culture when living in another country. 'Message in a Bottle' is the third book in the 'Letters from the Atlantic' series, written from an island in the Atlantic, and intended for all expats living overseas, as well as for those who are just thinking about it. 'Message in a Bottle' is an essential guide to living and loving a new country....and a few things that may surprise you!

Barrie Mahoney worked as a teacher and head teacher in the south west of England, and then became a school inspector in England and Wales. A new life and career as a newspaper reporter in Spain's Costa Blanca led to him launching and editing an English language newspaper in the Canary Islands. Barrie's books include novels in 'The Prior's Hill Chronicles' series, as well as books for expats in the 'Letters from the Atlantic' series, which give an amusing and reflective view of life abroad. Barrie writes regular columns for newspapers and magazines in Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Australia, South Africa, Canada, UK and the USA. He also designs mobile apps and websites to promote the Canary Islands and expat life, and is often asked to contribute to radio programmes about expat life.
