Marilyn McVicker had her first poem published in 1980, and has been writing ever since. Her published books include: As for Life: A memoir in poetry exploring the isolation & loss of chronic illness (Redhawk Publications, 2022), Some Shimmer of You (Finishing Line Press, 2014), and Sauna Detoxification Therapy (McFarland & Co., Inc., 1997). Marilyn's fascination with words and self-expression stems from her previous career as a solo flutist and music educator, and her family experience with deaf culture.
