Dr. Connie M. Forde is a professor in the Department of Instructional Systems and Workforce Development at Mississippi State University. She serves as curriculum coordinator and advises masters and doctoral students in the instructional technology programs. Dr. Forde is also the faculty advisor of Pi Omega Pi, the honorary society for business teacher education. She is an author on numerous word processing and integrated computer applications simulations as well. Dr. Susie H. VanHuss received her B.S. degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and her MBA and Ph.D. degrees from Indiana University. Her teaching specialties include business communications, administrative systems, and personnel management. Her work, published by Cengage Learning, includes textbooks in communications, keyboarding and word processing, and office technology. She has written numerous journal articles and has served on the editorial review boards of several leading business education journals. Vicki Robertson received her Master of Science and her Bachelor of Science in Education degrees from the University of Memphis. Vicki is currently teaching at the University of Memphis and online for Southwest Community College. She is a member of NBEA (National Business Education Association), SBEA (Southern Business Education Association); and she has served on the executive board for TBEA (TN Business Education Assoc.) for several years. Karen Simmers-Nartker graduated from Kent State University, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She has been employed as a telemetry step-down, medical intensive care, surgical intensive care, and neurological intensive care nurse. She is currently employed as a shift coordinator in an open-heart intensive care unit. She has obtained certification from the Emergency Nurses Association for the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and from the American Heart Association for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). In her current position as charge nurse in an ICU, she coordinates patient care and staff assignments; manages interpersonal conflicts among staff and/or patients and family members; is responsible for ensuring quality care to meet the diverse needs of patients and/or family; actively participates in inservices to evaluate new equipment, medications, hospital services and supplies; and teaches and mentors newly employed nurses.
