Michael Turtle has been a full-time travel writer and blogger for more than a decade, visiting more than 75 countries (and going through a few passports). Michael's interest in the culture and history of the places he visits inspired him to start seeking out World Heritage Sites and he has been to more than 320 of them on his journeys. He's even worked for UNESCO to produce stories and photos about some of the sites. Michael runs the popular travel blog, Time Travel Turtle, which inspires people to explore the world by seeing destinations through their heritage, people, and modern culture. He is also a weekly contributor to The Canberra Times. His articles and photos have won numerous awards, including the 2020 Best Travel Blog from the Australian Society of Travel Writers. Before he set off into the world with his backpack, Michael had worked as a national television and radio reporter at the Australian Broadcast Company (ABC), a newsreader at Triple J radio, and entertainment producer at Channel Seven in Australia.
