The son of a pioneer Miami sport-fishing captain, Capt. Jim Sharpe began his fishing career early, guiding his first sail fishing trip in 1954 at age 12. He worked on charter commercial fishing boats in Miami until 1976, when he moved to the Florida Keys and started SEA BOOTS Charters, fishing from Key West to the Bahamas.As an experienced captain, Sharpe has won the Key West Marlin Tournament two times, the Texaco Hemingway Key West Classic three times and the John Currie Texaco Challenge.Sharpe has produced several sport fishing videos, including How To Fish For Dolphin and Tuna, Marlin Fishing on the Wall, and A Trip To Dry Tortugas; and written numerous magazine articles featured in Marlin, Sport Fishing and The Big Game Fishing Journal. Plus, he produces two radio fishing programs, the Fearless Fishing Forecast and a weekly talk show called This Week in Fishing.
