Anne Coombes was born in the UK but has lived in Guyana, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ghana and the USA. Her travels have taken her from the Isles of the Southern South Pacific to the Galapagos, from Moscow to Quito, to Damascus and Guatemala City. She loves sushi, marzipan and Earl Grey tea and, one day, hopes to retire to a remote spot in the Scottish Highlands, surrounded by joyous, licky dogs. She works freelance for various UN agencies, and writes for print and online magazines and newspapers.
