A. Lee Martinez started writing fantasy and science fiction novels on a whim because he wasn't qualified to do anything else. Thirteen years later, he became an overnight success with his first novel, Gil's All Fright Diner. Since then, he has not become more qualified to do anything else, so he continues to write novels about space squids and raccoon gods. He refers to his style as 'Saturday Morning Humanism'. He was born in El Paso and currently resides just outside Dallas, Texas with his wife and pets and way too many board games.
