An outstanding collection in both breadth and depth that takes off from Jung's prescient attitudes to scientific and scholarly research. It will significantly enhance the presence of analytical psychology and Jungian studies in university environments. A welcome and distinguishing feature is that many of the chapters reflect contemporary clinical perspectives, grounding research in lived experience. Readers will note with approval the manifold ways in which Jung's colonial and prejudicial attitudes to culture and society are challenged and reframed for the contemporary reader. The book will greatly interest academics, scholars, students, and the clinical communities. - Andrew Samuels, Professor of Analytical Psychology, University of Essex, UK The essays in this initial volume in the set Research in Analytical Psychology expand importantly on the work of C.G. Jung, investigating the psyche from a variety of perspectives. The contributions are suggestive of directions to pursue toward approaching the ultimate goal of extending our consciousness and understanding of psychic reality. --Murray Stein, Ph.D., author of Jung's Treatment of Christianity
