'A rich store of exposition and critical appraisal of a very wide variety of relativist stances and criticisms of these. To have covered so much ground is a very considerable achievment...a major, if not indeed definitive, systematic work on objectivity and relativism.' - The Philosophical Quarterly 'This is an excellent, timely and very useful book. It is a scholarly and and fair-minded treatment of a vast subject that, none-the-less, manages to be succinct and beautifully clear.' - Nursing Philosophy
