""Out of a deep and refreshing well of theological reflection, hands-on experience, and timeless wisdom, Matt Rusten ignites leadership imagination, offering helpful tools to pastor congregants with their Monday in mind. This truly outstanding book is a remarkable gift to the church and a must-read for every pastor."" -- Tom Nelson, author of Why Your Work Matters, senior pastor of Christ Community Church, and founder and executive chairman of Made to Flourish ""I wish someone had told my mother, a nursing home aide for twenty-five years, that her work mattered to God. Though Christian culture now largely affirms the dignity of work, most churches still offer little practical guidance on integrating faith with daily jobs. Pastoring for Monday is the answer to this problem. A practical, actionable manual for church leaders, this book will help pastors competently shepherd every congregant—from the teacher and accountant to the nursing home aide—to live out their faith every day of the week."" -- Robin John, founding member and CEO of Eventide Asset Management and author of The Good Investor ""Matt Rusten knows that genuine discipleship necessarily includes an intentional, consistent, practical focus on helping parishioners understand their work through the lens of faith. A veteran at this sort of equipping, he shows how to do it with excellence and specificity, providing numerous illustrations from Scripture and ordinary people's lives. Armed with Rusten's toolbelt of strategies and practices, clergy will learn how to effectively support and relevantly communicate with their members as they navigate many common work-related struggles."" -- Amy L. Sherman, author of Kingdom Calling and Agents of Flourishing ""With pastoral warmth and theological depth, Matt Rusten affirms the sacredness of seemingly secular vocations and equips church leaders with practical tools to disciple believers where they spend most of their time—at work. This is an essential resource for any pastor eager to help their people follow Jesus beyond the church walls. This is a must-read for every pastor!"" -- Jordan Raynor, author of The Sacredness of Secular Work ""Having served as both a pastor and institutional leader, Matt Rusten is distinctly qualified to guide our vision and hearts regarding the crucial need to reintegrate church life and vocation. We desperately need to heed this call to help the mass of churchgoers embrace their daily work as God's kingdom work and to help them practice their discipleship to Jesus through their vocations."" -- Jonathan T. Pennington, professor of New Testament at Southern Seminary and teaching pastor at Sojourn East Church ""I've been waiting for a book like this for twenty years. A rich and thoroughly practical guide for pastors who long to bridge the gap between faith and work, Sunday and Monday. Having worked with hundreds of pastors and churches on this exact issue, Matt Rusten is the perfect pastoral companion for the journey ahead."" -- Matthew Kaemingk, coauthor of Leading Worship for Workers and professor of public theology at Utrecht Theological University
