Mahendra Rai, Ph.D. is a Senior Professor and UGC-Basic Science Research Faculty at the Department of Biotechnology, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Maharashtra, India. He was Visiting Scientist in University of Geneva, Debrecen University, Hungary; University of Campinas, Brazil; Nicolaus Copernicus University, Poland. VSB Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic, and National University of Rosario, Argentina. His area of interests include Microbial Biotechnology and nanobiotechnology. He has published more than 400 research papers in national and international journals. In addition, he has edited/authored more than 48 books and 6 patents. Marcelo Luís Occhiutto, M.D., is a physician in the Department of External Diseases, Cataract and Refractive Surgery of the T. Cvintal Institute of Ophthalmology - São Paulo, Brazil. He is a researcher at the Department of Ophthalmology and Human Genetics in the University of Campinas. His most recent research focuses on the use of nanotechnology for antiproliferative drugs in glaucoma surgeries, and about the identification of genetic polymorphisms that participate in the etiology of this serious eye disease.
