The book is authored by three experts in the field of agricultural system modeling. Each of the 19 chapters addresses a particular type of model. Organizing the material in this way makes the book useful to engineers wanting to find a model to solve or analyze a particular problem. It would also lend itself well for use as a course textbook. Instructors could easily choose certain models or processes to cover their courses, or the order in which they are discussed. The writing is clear and logically ordered. Each chapter is well referenced and contains its own table of contents. A separate table of contents allows for easier use of individual chapters apart from the whole text and thus adds to the usability of the book. This is a well-written and useable book for both the practitioner and student of soil management Journal of Environmental Engineering, Volume 128, Number 4, April 2002
