Mariam Khan (born 1993) is a British writer and activist. She is the editor of It's Not About the Burqa, an anthology of essays by Muslim women. She lives in Birmingham. Maya Saroya was born in London and studied acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama, and then the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. She gained a post-graduate degree from the Drama Studio London. She has worked in theatre, film and TV, most recently filming Aladdin for Disney and Howards End for the BBC/Starz.
