Gjertrud Steinsvåg (b. 1978) is the daily and artistic director of ROM for Art and Architecture. She has previously been head of international projects in Norwegian Crafts (2011-2015) and program director for the bachelor's program in medium- and material-based art at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (2015-2019). Steinsvåg has an educational background in Fine Arts; Oslo National Academy of the Arts (2001-2006) and Creative Curatorial Practice, Bergen Academy of Art and Design (2010-2012). Steinsvåg was the producer and catalogue editor of the exhibition Beyond G(l)aze, which was shown at Jinji Lake Art Museum (Suzhou) in 2014 and KODE 2 (Bergen) in 2015, and has written for various publications. She was editor of KUNSTforum 3/2015, Documents on Contemporary Crafts No. 2: Materiality Matters (2014), Norwegian Crafts Magazine, issue 2/2013 and the online publication Never Mind the Benefits (Feil Forlag, 2012).
