Indian Diaspora Literature is the body of literary works by the Indians away from their homeland. The writers nurse their feelings of wanting in being away in a distant land, hence their effort to embrace their native roots. This literature documents diaspora issues like dislocation, fragmentation, nostalgia for home, marginalization, racial hatred, cultural and gender issues, identity crisis, generational conflicts, hybrid pattern of life born out of cross-cultural interaction. However, the writers' concerns differ to a great extent in response to their generation, individual perception and their community. The writers also reflect the attempt of the immigrants to adapt, assimilate and amalgamate with the society of the host country but not drying up their concern to maintain their authentic relationship with native culture and identity. This book attempts to bring out varied notions of diaspora feelings of Indian Writers.
