Stephen McMillian is a multi-talented storyteller whose journey from shy Jersey City kid to celebrated writer, journalist, actor, dancer, and filmmaker is as inspiring as the people he profiles. A proud graduate of the historically Black Morgan State University, Stephen first found his voice through poetry and essays, many of which were published in local newspapers and anthologies. His professional writing career began with The Daily Challenge, a Black newspaper in Jersey City, and has since expanded to include contributions to numerous newspapers, magazines, and websites. As a red-carpet correspondent, he interviewed icons such as Oprah Winfrey, Magic Johnson, Dionne Warwick, and Roberta Flack.A former featured dancer on the legendary TV show Soul Train, Stephen later brought his insider's perspective to the program's official website as a journalist. His latest book, Get On Board!, is a heartfelt tribute to the dancers who helped shape the soul of a generation.
