Radhwan Al-Zidan is a specialized pharmacist with more than ten years of professional experience from working as a hospital pharmacist, community pharmacist, and from his current position in academia. He is currently associated with the Department of Pharmaceutics at the College of Pharmacy at Mosul University, Mosul, Iraq, where he is the rapporteur of the department.
In this book, Al-Zidan explores the FDA letter categorization and pregnancy lactation labeling rule (PLLR) systems for rating drug risks in pregnancy. Recently, the health system has moved towards patient-centered care giving more value to patients' decisions regarding their health. This book gives physicians and pharmacists the required information in a quick and easy way for proper informative patient counseling 'using PLLR' combined with their old familiar FDA letter categorization, so that both the patient and caregiver would be comfortable when sharing health-related decision making. I recommend this book for physicians and pharmacists. -Fawaz A. Alassaf, PhD, Department of Pharmacology, College of Pharmacy, University of Mosul, Iraq
