Differentiating Instruction With Menus: Chemistry offers teachers everything needed to create a student-centred learning environment based on choice. This book uses different types of menus that students can use to select exciting advanced-level products that they will develop so teachers can assess what has been learned-instead of using a traditional worksheet format. Topics addressed include chemistry basics, measurements, atoms, chemical bonding and reactions, gas laws, energy, acids and bases, and nuclear and organic chemistry.

Differentiating Instruction With Menus: Chemistry contains attractive reproducible menus, each based on the levels of Bloom's revised taxonomy as well as incorporating different learning styles. These menus can be used to guide students in making decisions as to which products they will develop after studying a major concept or unit.

Reviews for Differentiating Instruction With Menus: Chemistry (Grades 9-12)

Once again Westphal has written a work that serves educators well. A great alternative to your everyday lesson plans for your gifted learner and also could be used in the regular classroom as well. The work uses different levels of Bloom's taxonomy and incorporates different learning styles to aid the student. ,Lewie Dunn,Georgia Military College, 7/18/19 Laurie E Westphal offers creative ways for students to take control of their own learning in a controlled environment. I recommend this book for anyone who teaches grades 6-10. This is great resource for pushing middle level students and allows teachers who may not have a strong science background to feel more comfortable with science (especially chemistry).,Emily Lane,MiddleWeb, 10/31/19
