This is an overview of the history and development of biologicals used in therapeutics, with a strong focus on the developmental process. Chapters cover regulation of these drugs, biosimilars, costs, and the future of personalized medicine with these products. The book starts with a history and overview of the development and use of biopharmaceutics. It then discusses current trends and future markets, including the personalized medicine implications. It is user friendly enough for readers to understand the science and robust enough for use in postgraduate studies and programs. - Patrick J. McDonnell, Temple University School of Pharmacy
