Dr Gulen Hashmi is currently a Lecturer in Responsible Business Management at Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland, UK. She holds a Doctorate of Business Administration from Business School Lausanne, a MSc in Environmental Governance from the University of Essex, UK and an MBA from Sabanci University, Turkiye. She has an extensive industry experience having worked in various supervisory and managerial positions in the hospitality industry for about twenty-three years. Her doctoral specialisation lies in corporate sustainability strategies and business transformation for sustainability, with a particular focus on linking corporate and business strategies to societal wellbeing at large. Her academic publications are on the systemic collaborative challenges of our time, such as collaboration for sustainability, next-practice platforms, human rights and workforce conditions, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With a wide range of experience in sustainability consulting from Geneva to London to Gilgit, Pakistan, she considers herself an enthusiast for projects that lie on the nexus between practice and theory. He has more than eight years of teaching and research experience. He has done three post graduate degrees, two in Tourism & Travel Management and one in History. He did his doctorate (PhD) from Jiwaji University, India in 2018. He has in his credit more than thirty research papers and book chapters published by internationally reputed publishers. He has been a part of various academic activities as resource person and speaker. He also published five books on tourism interlinking it with sustainability and technology. His research interest areas are travel & tourism management, marketing, entrepreneurship, higher education and sustainability.
