Taking time out for a pilgrimage is a wonderful experience. In our busy lives we never know what might be next, around the corner. In preparation and planning for this particular journey, several things happened to make me reconsider whether the time was right.

Health issues for both myself and family members, especially losing my brother a few months before the trip.

This is the story of the change this journey had on our health and wellbeing. The people we met along the way and being at one with nature. My daily journal, re-read many times led me to share our experiences of the places we stayed and pilgrim places we visited in the hope that others may be tempted to visit some of these places or create their own special journey.

I was born in 1957 in Penarth, S. Wales, walking distance from the sea, I believe that the sea may be in my blood. I have always been a practising Christian and have spent a good deal of time in recent years reflecting on my faith journey. I've written a journal for several years; I began to use this to help me write down my reflections. I have written some poetry too. You are able to read some of this if you choose on wordpress: Life is a Pilgrimage I feel closest to God and at one with nature, whilst walking in the hills and beside the sea. I love to sit in silence to read and reflect. Having retired in 2019, I have taken a step aside from 'doing' in church life, at least for the time being. As a friend said, 'so long you've been Martha, time to be Mary' Pilgrimage has become an important part of life for both my husband and myself.
