A Rose is Still a Rose: Overcoming Your Past to Walk in Freedom is a memoir that illustrates God's redemption and faithfulness. This transparent and vulnerable book highlights the story of Grace Onuegbu, and her process of transformation from a prodigal daughter to a bold and unapologetic voice of healing and transformation.

A Rose is Still a Rose confronts the topics of childhood trauma, toxic relationships, parental abandonment, and sexual perversion and how God can transform even the worst situations into catalysts for deliverance and growth. Most importantly, this inspirational book will help readers take ownership of their own narrative and allow God into the secret places of their hearts to heal wounds

preventing them from walking in true freedom.

Reviews for A Rose is Still a Rose: Overcoming Your Past to Walk in Freedom

Grace is so open and honest about her journey. It's refreshing to see someone be honest when people typically only highlight their great moments. It was great to know that someone else understands the things I went through. It gave me hope since we have very similar stories. She doesn't sugar coat her trials which make her triumphs even more sweet. If you are going through a difficult season and trying to figure out why, this is the book for you! Grace gives hope through her testimony of how you can overcome with the help of God. There is no situation too hard, too dirty, or too complicated. It's truly inspiring and if God can do it for her, He can do it for others too! Crystal Johnson Are you ready to become liberated and free? Do you want to understand the root cause of some of your most trying and tumultuous relationships? Are you ready to end the cycle of toxic relationships and walk into your purpose? If you can answer yes to any of those questions, then this book is for you! Grace's authenticity and transparency lays the foundation for her readers to examine and realize the root of some our life's decisions, trials, and triumph's. By recognizing the reason behind what we do, we can change the outcome of our circumstances. You do NOT want to miss out on the life nuggets in this book! Tiffany M Ford I enjoyed how authentic this book is. When authors share their personal stories, they often leave out what really happened to them; they highlight the good parts and ignore the bad parts. Grace laid everything out for the reader to feel and see what she experienced as a child and into her young adult years. If you ever experienced rejection and abandonment and want to learn how to overcome, this is a great book to read to learn how one woman was able to get through. She shares her real struggles and how she was able to turn them around. It's not a spiritual book, it's a real life book. Latika S. Vines Wow! The author is such an awesome story-teller. I was actually on the edge of my seat as she described the things she experienced. It's like I was actually there - that is how real she made it. At one point I thought about grabbing some popcorn. I also loved how transparent she was and that she did not hold anything back. I learned that trauma and dysfunction is real and if not addressed they follow us from childhood all the way into adulthood. It affects and shapes so much about our lives like our world view and our choices; it can lead us down a dark and dangerous path. I love how God doesn't throw us away though, even when we have chosen to live in sin. He is always waiting patiently to embrace us with His love whenever we are ready to turn our lives over to Him.
