Eleanor Longhurst is a Bristol-based illustrator specializing in flowers and woodland animals. She is also a freelance designer and print designer. She opened her business, Little Paisley Designs, in 2014 after graduating from London’s Winchester School of Art to create a range of items featuring her prints and illustrations. Eleanor was the winner of Mollie Makes handmade awards Product of the Year 2018 for her temporary tattoo designs. Her work has also been featured in Frankie Magazine (and blog), Project Calm, and Simply Christmas magazine among others, and has featured on Craftsposure on Instagram. Both books use a simple ten-step process, which shows you how to draw the basic outlines using simple shapes to achieve realistic proportions. Eleanor then adds washes of colour and fine details to build the work up to the finished painting. A techniques section at the beginning of the book includes painting tips to build ability and confidence. 10 Step Watercolour: Birds is arranged in three chapters based on skill level. There are paint swatches for every bird, showing you exactly which colours you will need to mix for each of the 10 stages.
