The book 0 and 1 Energy is a call to reflect upon the differentiation between AI and tangible engineering. It tries to refocus the attention of us a civilization to the larger questions that have consequential effects on the meaning of progress and advancement. While today the dominant narrative is AI disproportionately, this work attempts to draw the attention of the reader about what are the limits of such a narrative. AI is not being criticized or dismissed, neither we speculate about the utopian or dystopian future, but it is about recognizing the utility of AI as a powerful tool. A tool that will certainly be a part of our future but not the future itself. It is a means to achieve human end goals and not vice versa. The book explores the themes of transformational tangible engineering of eras bygone that changed the course of human species by ushering in technologies in energy, mobility, medicine and many others. With the ongoing discourse that AI is the end goal, this work attempts to refocus our attention to tangible engineering and sciences, that has been and will remain the bedrock of human civilization. The book explores that long term effect of this trend on human talent itself which may alter the way future breakthroughs would be defined or undefined. The book also explores the much shrouded aspects of anti-thesis which is critical to understanding the cost of failure, of which we are completely unaware of today. As one glides through the pages of this short work, I do hope that it would spark the interest and fascination about the real engineering of physics, chemistry and biology, the same fields that continue to shape our future.
