Eddie James has been setting crossword puzzles 'since he was a lad' many years ago. Now he has the help of his wife, Jo, and together they create themed puzzles for a whole range of British publications, such as Geographical, BBC History and BBC Countryfile magazines. Eddie's cryptic crosswords include the monthly one on Chambers web site, and those published by the Guardian under the pseudonym 'Brummie'. He also sets for Private Eye as 'Cyclops'; under this persona, his clues are somewhat risque and irreverent, reflecting the magazine's tone.
