Our search has the following Google-type functionality:
+ (addition symbol)
If you use '+' at the start of a word, that word will be present in the search results.
eg. Harry +Potter
Search results will contain 'Potter'.
- (minus symbol)
If you use '-' at the start of a word, that word will be absent in the search results.
eg. Harry -Potter
Search results will not contain 'Potter'.
AND
If you use 'AND' between 2 words, then both those words will be present in the search results.
eg. Harry AND Potter
Search results will contain both 'Harry' and 'Potter'.
OR
If you use 'OR' between 2 words, then either or both of those words will be present in the search results.
eg. 'Harry OR Potter'
Search results will contain just 'Harry', or just 'Potter', or both 'Harry' and 'Potter'.
NOT
If you use 'NOT' before a word, that word will be absent in the search results. (This is the same as using the minus symbol).
eg. 'Harry NOT Potter'
Search results will not contain 'Potter'.
" " (double quotation marks)
If you use double quotation marks around words, those words will be present in that order.
eg. "Harry Potter"
Search results will contain 'Harry Potter', but not 'Potter Harry'.
* (asterisk)
If you use '*' in a word, it performs a wildcard search, as it signifies any number of characters. (Searches cannot start with a wildcard).
eg. 'Pot*er'
Search results will contain words starting with 'Pot' and ending in 'er', such as 'Potter'.

You can never have enough translations of Homer's epics, particularly when introducing the classics to younger readers. This edition is a beautifully presented, fully illustrated version, with the story told in an immediate and pleasing style. It is suitable for readers of middle primary age, as it avoids any lengthy descriptions of the violence and infidelities of Odysseus' voyage home to Ithaca, but it does give a fine rendering of his adventures (I couldn't put it down myself!) The illustrations by Neil Parker are vividly coloured, often highly detailed and expressive but at the same time flatly decorative, with the occasion sly touch (I rather liked a depiction of Hermes in boardshorts!) Parker also uses what looks like woodcuts to great effect. A wonderful addition to any collection, this attractive book will bring the ancient story to life for another generation of readers. Lindy
